Fairmont’s Canine Ambassadors

Known for thoughtful and welcoming service, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts offers a distinctive service at select hotels with resident hotel dogs known as Canine Ambassadors. Travelers missing their own furry friend or looking for a companion while taking a walk can bring along the resident Fairmont dog for extra security and the comfort of home. Meet the furry faces of our beloved Fairmont dogs below.

  • Bear

    Fairmont Banff Springs

Bear, an 18-month Black Labrador has adapted to life in the Canadian Rockies beautifully and has been an integral part of our Fairmont family. From his kind nature to his love of meeting people and going on numerous adventures, Bear is ready to do it all! On top of being Banff’s most popular recruit, he brings 18 months of training to his new position as a recent graduate of the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind Program.

  • Carly Copley

    Fairmont Copley Plaza

Carly Copley is delighted to follow in the pawsteps of her ‘big sister’ Catie Copley – who retired after 12 years as canine ambassador. Carly was adopted from the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Sweet as can be, Carly enjoys catching rides on the hotel's bell carts, taking part in community events and greeting guests in the hotel lobby.

  • Stanley

    Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Stanley is a Black Labrador Retriever, trained at the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind School. At the tender age of 1,5 years old, Stanley decided he needed more action and bounded into beautiful Jasper National Park. Now happily settled into his job, Stanley loves going for walks around Lac Beauvert and getting exercise with Fairmont guests.

  • Smudge

    Fairmont Hotel Macdonald

Smudge, a Golden Labrador Retriever, is the first dog at Fairmont to receive an international job transfer. She began her ambassadorship at Fairmont St Andrews in Scotland, then crossed the pond (with her boss!) to join the team at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton. Smudge loves to volunteer and help raise funds for the local Humane Society.

  • Marcus

    Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

Marcus, known to his friends as Mark, holds the esteemed title of Director of Pet Relations at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies. A handsome, affectionate and busy Golden Labrador Retriever, Marc loves to hike in the mountains, play fetch with guests and make little guests giggle with big sloppy kisses.

  • Daphnie

    Fairmont Le Château Frontenac

Daphnie is a St-Pierre breed – a cross of Bernese Mountain Dog and Labernese. Trained by the Mira Foundation to become a guide dog, Daphnie’s kindness, outgoing nature and social skills led her to switch careers and become a Canine Ambassador. Now she joyfully spends her days meeting, greeting and making guests feel welcome.

  • Bello

    Fairmont Le Château Montebello

Ciao Bello! Bello is a gorgeous Black Labrador trained by the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in Ottawa. Although an excellent candidate, the city streets made him feel a little timid. The country life at Montebello is now Bello’s happy place where he loves to go hiking with guests and take part in social and community events.

  • Grammy

    Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club

Why have one dog when you can have two? Tusker and Grammy are sister-dogs, of Labrador and Ridgeback descent. Together the duo mix work and pleasure at Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club. They can be found around the Club taking walks together, jumping into ponds and chasing birds over 100 acres of picturesque landscape.

  • Roux

    Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu

Roux is a Golden Labrador Retriever trained by the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind in Ottawa. At the age of 3 years old, Roux decided that he preferred a more laid back life style in beautiful Charlevoix. Now happily settled into his job, Roux is making guests feel welcome and hope to take selfie with you!

  • Bixby and Gibbs

    Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

Best buds Bixby and Gibbs are a dynamic duo of Canine Ambassadors. Bixby, a yellow Labrador Retriever, loves golf cart rides and cuddling up with kids. Gibbs, a Red Golden Retriever, loves hugs and enjoying the beautiful Arizona weather. The dogs’ first book, The Golden Friends of Fairmont, just got “two paws up”!

  • Beau

    Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Beau, a Yellow Labrador, and his colleague new colleague Ella, are former BC Guide Dog trainees who each found they were better suited to the social life of a hotel ambassador. The highly photographed and much-petted pups love the busy lobby, the interaction with guests, the community events and posing for selfies.
